On 1 June 2026, Mr. Motohiro Fujimitsu, Technical Attaché and Manager of the WCO–JICA Joint Project, and Mr. Ulugbek Tadjiev, Assistant Manager of the WCO–JICA Project, visited the ROCB Europe Office.
During their visit, the representatives were introduced to the activities of the ROCB Europe Office and exchanged views on potential areas of future cooperation aimed at strengthening Customs capacity building within the region.
As part of the visit, Mr. Fujimitsu and Mr. Tadjiev delivered a presentation on the WCO–JICA Joint Project, outlining its objectives, achievements, and ongoing activities. Particular attention was given to the Master Trainer Programme (MTP), the flagship initiative of the project designed to develop sustainable and self-reliant training capacities within Customs administrations.
The presentation highlighted the project’s contribution to Customs modernization through capacity-building activities in areas such as HS Classification, Customs Valuation, Post Clearance Audit (PCA), Risk Management (RM), Intelligence Analysis, and Rules of Origin (RoO). Information was also shared on the latest project activities being implemented in Africa, the Pacific Islands, and the Central Asia and Caucasus region.
The visit provided an excellent opportunity to strengthen professional ties, exchange experiences, and discuss future collaboration in support of regional Customs development initiatives.
