Strengthening Regional Cooperation to Address Emerging Risks along the Trans-Caspian Corridor
In the framework of the 69th Session of the United Nations Commission on Narcotic Drugs, ROCB Europe reaffirmed its strong commitment to supporting Customs administrations in protecting society while facilitating legitimate trade.
The side event “International and Regional Cooperation in Combating Drug Trafficking along the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor”, organized jointly with the CARICC, highlighted the growing importance of coordinated action in addressing emerging risks linked to the increasing opportunities created by the Trans-Caspian corridor.
🌐 ROCB Europe continues to promote practical cooperation, capacity-building and knowledge exchange among partners, including collaboration with CARICC, the United Nations, WCO entities, NEA Türkiye, and the Customs Administration of Uzbekistan, as well as through the co-organization of dedicated training activities and operational exchanges.
As trade connectivity expands across the region, strengthening regional coordination becomes essential to ensure that economic opportunities are matched by effective enforcement and modern customs controls.
ROCB Europe remains fully available to support all partners, both at sub-regional and regional levels, by facilitating dialogue, sharing expertise and identifying future capacity-building needs linked to evolving trade corridors.
The meeting was attended by Mr. Mirhasan Seyidzade, Deputy Director of ROCB Europe, and Mr. Haji Hajiyev, Executive Officer with extensive experience in enforcement measures, whose insights contributed to a fruitful exchange with participating partners.
Through continued cooperation and forward-looking initiatives, ROCB Europe remains committed to strengthening customs administrations’ ability to protect society in an increasingly connected world.
