Empowering Customs with Data: WCO Workshop in Baku

From 22 to 24 July 2025, ROCB Europe had the privilege of hosting the Regional Workshop on Data Analytics, organized by the World Customs Organization with financial support from CCF Korea. The event was attended by representatives of the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan. With the support of two WCO experts, the 3-day programme brought together Customs officials from across the region to explore how data analytics can enhance risk management, trade facilitation, and strategic decision-making. Key highlights: 🔹 Fundamentals of data analytics and warehousing 🔹 Assessment of Azerbaijan Customs’ data maturity 🔹 Advanced use cases from Hong Kong and Korea 🔹 Drafting a national data strategy and roadmap This initiative is part of the WCO’s broader efforts — including the BACUDA Project and the CLiKC! e-learning platform — to build a global community of Customs data analysts. 💡 Data is more than numbers: it’s a strategic asset for modern Customs.
