Visit to the Academy of the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Baku

Visit to the Academy of the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Baku – also home to the WCO Regional Training Center for the Europe Region – was both insightful and inspiring. We were warmly welcomed by Mr. Gulu Novruzov, Chief of ASCCA and RTC Baku and Mr. Anar Suleymanov, Deputy Chief of ASCCA and RTC Baku. The tour of the facilities was particularly impressive: we had the opportunity to see bachelor’s and master’s students, as well as customs officers, fully engaged in their final exams. We also visited the language and cyber security labs, and training rooms equipped for scanner operations and narcotics detection. The visit concluded with a productive exchange of views on the synergies – both possible and essential – between the Academy, the Regional Training Center, and ROCB Europe, especially in terms of strategic coordination. A heartfelt thank you to the dedicated teams of both institutions for their warm hospitality and professionalism.
